Little Van Gogh

I try to be careful about saying that my babies are geniuses.  I mean, every mama thinks that her baby is like the best at talking and singing and being cute or whatever.  And obviously, that is impossible.

But seriously.  Look at this.  Finley said he was drawing a man, and HE KIND OF DID.

And then it ended up like this.

But still, we were both impressed.  And Finley was proud.  Solid work, champ.

  2. You can tell a lot by the drawings of people. Check out this link... http://projectivetests.umwblogs.org/popular-tests/draw-a-person-test/
Not sure if it's the best explanation, but I thought you might find this interesting, or you already know about it because we are a teacher.

    1. I just watched Midnight in Paris, so I'm kind of going to hope you are wrong. PIcasso was kind of nuts! But so was Van Gogh. Actually, let's hope he's not an artist at all? I don't know.

    2. At first, I thought Tara was implying that if he was deaf, he would be the next Picasso. And I thought, wasn't it Van Gogh who cut off his ear? Yeah, maybe not being and artist would be good ;)

  6. We used person drawings in preschool also in order to understand the ages of development as it correlated with creative growth. Finley looks as if he is right on target for his development for age 3. Here is a site that shows comparative drawings to age:

David and I thought Midnight In Paris was super! And yes, with all those large egos in the mix, the artists seem to keep things lively. We really enjoyed Hemingway.

  7. I SAW MIDNIGHT IN PARIS WITH VIC. Now back to the point:

Finley is a genius. How many little guys his age can draw little potato-like men just out for a stroll? Seriously.

    1. I think we can all agree Midnight in Paris should win some awards.

And I think maybe Finley is a genius after all. I'll alert the Louvre that they should be expecting some of his artwork in the next few years.
