Waiting to Run

I'm currently in Pittsburgh at my Aunt's house--willing my body to get rid of this cold and my foot to heal up and the rain to stay away. And by the way, thanks so much for all the sweet comments on the previous post. I have great friends and now feel like I have to qualify (run under 3:40) because I don't want to come back here and have to report that I didn't. Don't worry, I will blame it on cold/foot/weather if need be. And don't forget to follow my race results in the sidebar from 7:30 to hopefully no later that 11:10. I'll forgive you if you don't though. It's really early.

In the meantime, Victoria took these pictures (that I love!!!) of our little family. Finley is wearing seersucker pants. Seersucker, kids.

And here is Finley with his best friend, the orange balloon. I am pretty sure this is what he looked like in the womb. It was pretty cramped quarters in there.

And HAPPY BIRTHDAY MOM! So glad I could spend it with you.

  1. 1. Give that boy a hat and he is ready for the Kentucky Derby tomorrow. My most memorable Derby day was the one in Boston when my new camera was lost/stolen and I drank my sorrows away on blueberry beer at Boston Beer Works and later at Giacomo's. Turns out Bob wasn't mad. He's a keeper!

    2. Super good luck, I am sure you can do it!

    3. I'm a little sad you didn't title your post "Ready to Run" after the great Dixie Chicks song. Maybe you are just waiting rather than ready, due to ailments, but I hope you hum the Dixie song to yourself as extra motivation from me when times get rough.

  2. Thank you Sol for popping your son's collar. Oh man...Good luck Rachel!!!

  3. I am a sucker for seersucker! ANd best of luck to you. You'll do great. Either way running a marathon is still a GREAT accomplishment!!!

  4. Oh my...popped collar, seersucker pants...that is perhaps the cutest thing I've ever seen.

    Good luck!!!

  5. rach - i have that t-shirt too! good j. crew find. ran 8 miles this morning and thought of you - as I walked back in the house i said "Have you heard from victoria!?!" because i thought your race was today and i was excited to hear how you did. alas i was wrong but GOOD LUCK TOMORROW!

  6. That little man looks a lot like that Daddy of his. Stylin' and curious..G'luck Rachel, hope you feel better.

A comment? For me? You shouldn't have. But please do.
